So, what are you going to do with yourself all summer?
I have been getting this question a lot. And I also have been repeating myself to Bryan about this a lot. He seems to think I will lazily waste away my summer days on the couch, and by the end of summer have nothing accomplished. This is my secret fear, and judging by the way the first week has gone, I am already headed down that path. HOWEVER, I believe I am making up for 10 months of stress and exhaustion and I have earned a little R&R. Now, to get back on my game and begin this next phase of life which also feels like a job: keeping house. I formulated and condensed all my sticky notes to make a grand master plan, which is ordered from high priority then lower. I also included at the bottom things which are to happen on a continuous basis, or daily. I plan to share this with you and review this myself daily to keep myself on track. Now nobody needs to ask this question anymore. Instead, to keep me accountable, you can ask "So where are you on your list?" :-). I might also add that to some people this list may not look all that extensive (Bryan has already mentioned he could do most of this stuff in a day or two, and he is probably right). However, I suffer with an affliction that will most likely cause me to only complete this list right up until the end of summer break, or into September: slow-movedness. Handed down to by my father, who has been "organizing" and "cleaning" his office for the past 10 years since he retired. Again, I see myself either going down this path or the path of un-motivation. When I look at this list I feel overwhelmed. I should not feel overwhelmed on my summer vacation. However, I am also an over-achiever. This, coupled with the fact that I don't move very fast understandably ends with continuous feelings of being overwhelmed. Not to mention, what if I find another job and don't go back to teaching for a year or two? What if I start in August? How will I get all of this done then? Ay yi yi. So, here it is:

Grrrr
I am so mad at whoever keeps posting naughty comments on my blog. I think I figured out how to moderate those. They are all in asian languages, except for some hidden words within the comments. So annoying!
This was my last weekend before the end of school. I am still feeling stressed out, especially now since it is late Sunday night and I sitll have a bunch of grading I want/need to do. I know the next couple of weeks are going to be killer, as I wrap up report cards (didn't I JUST do those??) and cleaning and packing up my classroom. Its always a stressful time of year for me, but it is better now because I know I will be able to relax and not move on to a summer job (at least not right away!...I may still look for part time work, but after assessing all of my goals I am not sure I will have the time!). Bryan doesn't want to rip my head off and I haven't had a migraine in awhile, so things are good...
We had a fun day yesterday. It was a nice day for literally the first time this spring...and we are only a couple weeks away from summer! I went to the Saturday market, the zoo (we watched my two year old niece Lilah) and to the movies last night. I also visited a friend/co-worker in the hospital who gave birth one week too early! He is a cutie though, and it was fun to see her.
Nothing else too exciting has been happening here...hopefully next time I post I will be a free woman, and there won't be any nasty comments on this or other posts! :-)
